College Visit Schedule

  1. Last day to change classes for 2nd trimester without penalty is TODAY.  If you make a change after that date, you will receive an “F” for the course you drop, per student handbook page 117.
  2. Limited nursing service’s TODAY: Mrs. Noren here from 8:00-10:30 TODAY. NO Nurse TODAY in the PM.
  3. Lunch Menu for TODAY: Hot Dog or Assorted Sandwiches   Green Beans   Juice Cup
  4. Book club will meet on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:40 a.m.  in the LMC to discuss “Cracker:  The Best Dog in Vietnam” by Cynthia Kadohata.  See Mrs. Weber for more details.

  1. Check out the new VS Post Prom link on the Vinton-Shellsburg High School home page.
  2. The following Juniors are scheduled to work concessions for the basketball game TODAY are Rylie P., Jacob H. and Logan M. Workers need to report at 6:00. We could still have 1 more worker. See Ms. Cox if you want to work.
  3. The list for Large Group Speech is up and watch the announcements for meetings next week.
  4. Viking Wrestling Fundraiser t-shirt order forms available in the main office. Deadline Nov. 23rd.
  5. 9-12 Football wrap up Sunday Night Nov. 22 @ 5:30 @ the Vinton Skating Rink. Pot luck bring a dish.
  6. Attention NHS Members: Roping is this Saturday, Nov. 21st. If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Furlong. Bring work gloves and a ladder if possible.
  7. Viking Swim Team Fundraiser: T-Shirt order forms available in the main office. Deadline for orders is Tues., Nov. 24th; late orders will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Seniors

  1. University of Iowa Presidential Scholarship Program – To be eligible you must have applied for admission to the University; a 3.80 cumulative GPA and an ACT score of 30 or above.  Application is available in the Guidance Office.  Application deadline is December 11, 2009.
  2. AXA Achievement Scholarship - Have you been active in your community, led a project that benefits others or overcome personal challenges?  Learn more and download an application at www.axa-achievement.com    Apply by December 15, 2009.
