AR Bookmark

Promote some of your favorite books and authors by creating bookmarks for AR reading!

 

1. Prepare your AppleWorks page using the following setup:

Format: Document... - change all margins to 0.5
Create four columns by clicking column box on tool bar
File: Page Setup... - change to landscape printing

2. On the internet, check for VSMS AR tests.

A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z
(List of tests available arranged alphabetically by authors.)

3. Find information about the author or books.

For your bookmark, you may choose to...

- write a short biography of the author
or
- compose an enticing lead and recommendation for a specific book

 

4. Find one or two graphics to add interest to your bookmark.

Graphics may be found with the author links or you may copy bookcovers from
Barnes and Noble

or

Amazon.com

To credit artwork, either list the illustrator or the website address.

Note:

Do not go on to Step 5 until you have the first column on the left

exactly the way you want it to look!

5. Copy/paste completed information into each column
for a total of four bookmarks on the page.
(Note: It is easier to copy/paste graphics in every column first,
followed by the text. Always work from the left column to the right.)

The assignment is to create one bookmark four times
but if there is time, you may create extra bookmarks in each column

on a new page for extra credit.

 

Tech Expert Reminders:

Always check for the arrow icon when working with graphics

• Arrange: Scale by percent... changes the size of graphics

• Options: Text Wrap... allows words to go around graphics
