Preschool

We are delighted to share that today, Thursday, May 28, 2009, Gov. Chet Culver announced Tiny Vikes Preschool in the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District was selected as one of the new preschools that will receive state funding to begin in fall of 2009. There will be a preschool in both Vinton and Shellsburg.

Our current plans are to send information letters out to parents that contacted the school earlier this Spring with an interest in attending Tiny Vikes. Those letters will be in the mail the Week of June 1^st-5^th. Instructions to parents will be included in the letter. We will be offering Am and PM sections at both Tilford and Shellsburg. We are excited about the opportunity to be able to offer 4 year old “Free” preschool to children in the area.

We would also like to say “Thank you” to our community members who participated in any way as we completed the 4 year old preschool grant in March. Without your support, willingness and collegiality our grant would have not been possible.
